JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Dolphins are on the road this weekend, taking part in two vital conference doubleheaders. The Dolphins face Stetson on Friday at 6 and 8 p.m., before facing off against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at 2 and 4 p.m.

On Tuesday the Dolphins swept Florida A&M on Senior Night, winning 6-1, 12-4.

The 12-run output was the most on the season for the Dolphins.

Scouting the Lady Hatters

Frank Griffin enters his 12th year in charge of Stetson and has 657 career wins.

The Hatters currently occupy the No. 3 seed, with six games remaining in their A-Sun schedule.

Junior first baseman Andrea Migliori equaled her school record mark with 16 home runs and leads the team with a .356 batting average and 55 RBI.

Sophomore Amy Joyce is second with a .301 batting average and leads the team with 19 stolen bases.

Sophomore Amanda Lindsey has been dominant in the circle this season, going 19-12 with a 1.23 ERA and 219 strikeouts.

Scouting the Eagles

Florida Gulf Coast has stormed the league in its first season in the A-Sun, compiling a 13-3 record in conference play.

Under head coach David Deiros, who enters his sixth season at the helm of the program, the Eagles have recorded 45 wins, the second highest total in the country.

Several of their players are among the national leaders, including senior outfielder Carmen Paez, who has a .438 batting average with 22 home runs and 67 RBI. Paez has been selected as a finalist for the 2008 USA Softball "Player of the Year".

Junior shortstop Cheyenne Jenks is just as dangerous at the plate, possessing a .392 batting average, 16 home runs and 68 RBI.

Senior Rachael Edinger and freshman Morgan Campen have been solid on the mound for the Eagles, with both pitchers having a high strike out rate and an ERA under 2.50.

Bracketology

With four games remaining in their 2008 A-Sun schedule, the Dolphins currently occupy the sixth and final seed for the A-Sun tournament.

The Dolphins currently have five conference victories, while Gardner-Webb and Belmont have three each, though the Dolphins have played two more conference games than Gardner-Webb.

After the Florida A&M series, the Dolphins will travel to Stetson and first-place Florida Gulf Coast.

If Belmont and Gardner-Webb split their upcoming series and lose their remaining games, the Dolphins will make the tournament regardless of their results.
