Round two scorecards

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Tough scoring conditions were the story of the second round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship as the JU women's golf team sits in fifth place entering the final round.

The Dolphins posted a team score of 333 in the second round, tying for the high score of the day. The Dolphins hold a seven-shot lead on Mercer and trail Stetson by seven for fourth place.

Host East Tennessee State has a comfortable 28-shot lead entering the final round after posting a 299 - the lowest score of the day. Belmont's Lorie Warren shot a three-under par 69 to take the individual lead by two shots at three-over par after 36 holes.

"The conditions today were really tough for scoring and we definitely left some shots out there," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "We've got a chance at moving up in the standings if we play well tomorrow, which is going to be our goal when we tee off."

Senior Heather Fudge and junior Therese Karlsson posted the low score of the day for JU as each shot a 10-over par 82. Karlsson had a great finish to her round, with birdies at No. 16 and 17. Fudge sits in a tie for 14th individually at 19-over par, while Karlsson is tied for 19th at 20-over par.

Joining Karlsson at 20-over par is freshman Danielle Gibb, who shot an 11-over par 83.

Jessica Green, who posted the low score of round one for JU, shot an 86 and fell from a tie for 10th to a tie for 23rd at 22-over par.

Alexandra Andersen shot a 92 and is in 37th place.

The Dolphins will tee it up on Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. in the final round of the 2008 season with Stetson and Mercer.
