Men's tennis falls to UNF, 6-1
April 9, 2008 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU men's tennis team wrapped up its Atlantic Sun Conference regular season schedule with a 6-1 loss to North Florida in the SunTrust River City Rumble on Tuesday at UNF. Francisco Riveroll was the bright spot for the Dolphins, winning the No. 3 match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. "This was a tough match and while we're disappointed with the result, we've got to shake it off quickly and get ready for the tournament next week," said head coach Shane Wood. The Dolphins (7-11, 5-5 A-Sun) opened the match by taking just one of three doubles matches. Jordi Ballester teamed with Riveroll for an 8-5 win in the No. 2 match, but the Dolphins were unable to win either the No. 1 or 3 match as the Ospreys took the early advantage. From there, UNF (11-9, 5-5 A-Sun) took five of the six singles matches to seal the win. One of the other top efforts for the Dolphins was Vinicius Craveiro in the No. 6 match. Despite dropping the first set 6-1, he rallied with a 6-0 win in the second before dropping the third set, 6-4. The Dolphins face in-state rival UCF on the road on Saturday before wrapping up the regular season against Bethune-Cookman on Monday.
