Rowing prepares for SIRA Regatta

Fresh off another dominant performance at FIRA's last weekend, the JU rowing program prepares to compete in the Southeast Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta on Saturday and Sunday in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The Women's Freshman 4 consisting of coxswain Claire Futo, Morgan McTiernan, Samantha Newell, Brittany Cahan and Elise Perna will lead things off at 7:40 a.m. in Heat 1 against Alabama, Wake Forest, Florida, Emory and Ohio. The top three finishers will compete in the AB Semifinal while the remainder of the finishers will compete in the C Semifinal.

The Men's Freshman 4 with coxswain Jamie Goldstein, Matt Repici, Kevin Friedlander, John Gerety and Chris Barse will compete at 8:22 a.m. in Heat 3 against Rollins College, Murray State, Texas and Duke. The top four finishers will compete in the AB Semifinal while the remainder of the finishers will compete in the C Semifinal.

The Women's Varsity 4 consisting of coxswain Amanda Soukup, Kelly Burke, Karly Greer, Jill Carmody and Kate Gout will go at 9:43 a.m. in Heat 5 against Wake Forest, Philadelphia, Clemson and Florida. The top three finishers will compete in the AB Semifinal while the remainder of the finishers will compete in the C Semifinal.

The Men's Varsity 8 with coxswain Jessica Merchant, Matthew D'Amico, Richmond Jones, Tyler Humphrey, Greg Boccieri, Adam Heine, Patrick Lura, Dylan Kosten and Stefan Negaard will compete at 11:14 a.m. in Heat 3 against Texas, Temple, Dayton and Clemson. The top three finishers will compete in the AB Semifinal while the remainder of the finishers will compete in the C Semifinal.

The Men's Junior Varsity 8 consisting of coxswain Anthony Magro, Erich Negaard, Lucas Meers, Chris Carter, Bradley Woodrum, Sebastian Kuhn, Michael Scully, Ryan O'Donnell and Joey Civello will go at 2:45 p.m. in Heat 1 against Delaware, Temple, Georgia Tech and Emory. The top three finishers will go to the A Final while the remainder of the finishers competes in the B Final.

The Women's Varsity 8 with coxswain Jill Sarno, Candace Barber, Adelina Anderson, Stephanie Bechtold, Jessica Tuten, Jennifer Barker, Danielle Fournier, Julia Fairchild and Keely Wells will compete at 5:15 p.m. in Heat 1 against Alabama, Purdue, Kansas and Murray State. The top three finishers will go to the A Final while the remainder of the finishers competes in the B Final.
